Staff Analysis of the Legislation
This bill creates the position of an overdose and suicide fatality examiner within the Office of the Medical Examiner; creates the Opioid and Overdose Fatality Review Committee within the Department of Health; and makes technical and conforming changes. The bill establishes an ongoing general fund appropriation of $675,00 to the Department of Health and a one-time general fund appropriation of $145,000.
